For the love
Superwords is a ragtag group of screenwriters, comedy writers, and copywriters – here to create unforgettable scripts. Because, hey, we actually love doing this stuff.
The Superwords mission.
To create stories that jump off the page – stories you can’t wait to bring to life.
We do this by listening to you, to your clients, to every word in the brief. By leveraging time-tested writing techniques. And by finding new ways to tell stories that move.
Meet the team.
Founder and Writer
John Lombard is a straight up writing nerd. An empty page is his safe space, and he's here to turn it into an awesome story.
For the past ten years, John's worked across agencies and startups, creating copy for brands like United Airlines, Mashable, American Red Cross, Girl Scouts of America, Native and more.
John's studied sketch comedy at Second City, holds an M.S. in Entertainment Business from Full Sail, and a B.A. in Theater Arts from The University of South Florida. He's a 2019 Nickelodeon Writing Program Semifinalist, a 2020 Austin Film Festival Digital Series Second Rounder, and has worked on award-winning projects that took home Addys in 2017 and 2018.
"We're quickly growing, with an experienced team of writers down to tackle any project. Drop us a line!"
Hayley Grgurich is a writer specializing in crafting scripts and stories with curiosity, humor, empathy and style.
She’s spent 10 years working with magazines, startups and creative agencies across New York and Chicago, earning bylines in Esquire, the BBC, Rookie and more.
During her agency days, she worked on a financial account that allowed her to write video and podcast scripts. Since then she’s been hooked. When a producer and project manager role opened on the video team, she went for it, leading to 3 years of managing more than 500 digital projects for national brands and producing video shoots across Europe, the Middle East, Australia and the Americas.
In 2020, she graduated from The Harold Ramis Film School at The Second City in Chicago, earning a Writing Fellowship for her original TV pilot script. She holds a B.A. in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and has studied comedy writing and production at iO Chicago, The Lincoln Lodge and The Second City, where she lucked out and met John.
